Custom vs Controversy: Jual Oram being Targeted

Some TV channels have criticised Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram for allowing tribal girls to wash his feet at a function near Bhopal.

It’s a custom among tribal women to wash the feet of an honourable guest who visit their homes/places. So, we can’t say whether Jual Oram did right or wrong. But, if we consider the custom, he can’t be blamed. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat was also subjected to criticism for a similar incident.

But, Jual may want put an end to the tradition in his case, as PM Modi does not approve women touching the feet of men like this.
