Dharmendra inaugurates Cancer & Nuclear Medicine Center at AIIMS in Odisha

ONI Bureau: First of its kind in Odisha, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated department of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine along with three state-of-the-art high yield radiotherapy equipment at All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar on Friday.

The machine along with the state-of-the-art radiotherapy technology will detect cancer and other diseases including heart problem, thyroid, kidney and liver problems.

Pradhan also inaugurated Gamma Camera to detect cancer and one shelter home for the relatives of the patients. More than 250 patients’ relatives can stay in that home.

Reportedly, the patient will get radiation treatment at a cost of Rs.750 and nuclear treatment at a cost of Rs. 250. Such treatments will cost more than one lakh in any private hospital and the cost for all the diagnosis will be available in 20 times cheaper than private hospitals across the state.
