Odia Artists to get Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi Samman

Three eminent personalities of Odisha Prafulla Kar, Alok Kanungo and Sadasiv Pradhan have been selected for the prestigious Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi Samman. Prafulla Kar, Kanungo and Pradhan will receive the award for Sugam Sangeet, Odissi and Chhau dance respectively.

The Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi announced the name of 36 artists in the presence of the representatives from 30 states. The awards are the highest honour for performing arts in the state.

The selected artists will be awarded by the President of India in a special function in New Delhi.
