Odia Writer Manoj Kumar Panda to receive 36th Sarala Award

Manoj-kumar-panda-sarala-awardBhubaneswar, Aug 20: Noted Odia writer Manoj Kumar Panda will receive the 36th edition of prestigious Sarala Award for his literary achievements and for his book “Maya Bagicha”. Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust, a charitable wing of IMFA Group, said in a release that the writer will get a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakh alongwith a citation.  The award function will be held on October 26 in Bhubaneswar.

The trust nominated Bhimsen Satpathy and D. Narayan Rao for Ila Panda Memorial Music Samman and Ila Panda Memorial Art Samman respectively. They will receive a cash award of Rs.1.5 lakh each with citations.

The Sarala Award function will be attended by eminent writer Mridula Garg, trust informed. The annual Sarala Award has been conferred by the trust since 1979 to the dignitaries in the field of Literature and Ekalabya Award to promising sports talents of Odisha.
