Odisha CM lays foundation stone for Odia University at Satyabadi

ONI Bureau:   Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone of the proposed Odia University at Bakula Bana at Sakhigopal under Satyabadi block in Puri district to mark 141st birth anniversary of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das today.

Panchayati Raj Minister Pradeep Maharathy, Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty and MP Pinaki Mishra were also present at the occasion.

The Chief Minister planted saplings at Bakula Bana, for which water and soil were brought from 30 districts of the state, reportedly.

Worth mentioning, the proposed Odia University would help promote and propagate proliferation of art, culture and classical Odia language across the country. It will offer post graduate courses in Odia language and literature.

Gopabandhu established his famous Satyabadi Bana Bidyalaya in the year 1909, at Sakshi Gopal, near Puri.
