Bhubaneswar, Oct 2: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD supreme Naveen Patnaik today flagged off the 10-day long ‘Jan Sampark Padayatra’ here today from Ganganagarpalli on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Senior leaders of BJD including Lok Sabha member Prasanna Patsani, Tourism & Culture Minister Ashok Panda, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena and MLAs were present on the occasion.
The BJD members have began Padayatra in 32 organizational districts of the party simultaneously. The will highlight the achievement of BJD government during the campaign. The Padayatra will be concluded on October 11. The march will continue till Jayaprakash Jayanti on October 11.
“We will try our best to fulfill promises made in the manifestos during the assembly and Lok Sabha elections,” said Patnaik. The chief minister attacked the union government for stopping the flow of funds for certain central schemes, which the party believes would affect the people.
