Without taking any chance, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has entrusted Key officials with the task of overseeing the Nabakalebara festival work to ensure its speedy completion. The decision was taken at a high level meeting chaired by the CM himself and attended by Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati.
Reports suggest that the CM was concerned over timely completion of infrastructure development work. The Nabakalebara Festival will be held in June 2015. Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati has been asked to supervise and monitor the ongoing construction of roads, bridges and rail tracks.
Additional Chief Secretary to CM, AP Padhi will oversee security, administration of Shri Jagannath Temple and traffic management in Puri town. Development Commissioner UN Behera was given the charge of Health, Sanitation and underground Sewerage works.
Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, R Balakrishnan was asked to take charge of Tourism, Brand Promotion and Documentation. The CM asked all officials to ensure quality work and directed them to submit status report of the works every fortnight.
