Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: Orissa High Court on Monday asked the Odisha Health Secretary to appear in person before the bench in the next hearing on Tuesday over the Sardar Rajas Medical College issue.
The court asked the Odisha government to clear its stand over the admission of 124 students of the medical college as per the proposal given by Medical Council of India (MCI), which was said to be opposed by the state government.
Hearing the petition, the court asked the state government to explain the reasons for turning down the proposal of MCI. As per the proposal of MCI, the medical students of the medical college those admitted under government quota and management quota should be accommodated in state-run medical colleges and private medical colleges respectively. As per reports, Odisha government wants to relocate the medical students into private medical colleges in the state.
