Student Union Polls cancelled in Maharishi, Rajdhani, SCS

Citing violent incidents and unrest, the college authorities have cancelled at various colleges in Odisha. They included Maharishi College, City Women’s College and Rajdhani College in Bhubaneswar, SCS College in Puri and Dhenkanal College.

Earlier, polls in Vani Vihar (Utkal University) was cancelled for repeated violent incidents. There were incidents of violence and bombing at Maharishi College campus yesterday.

Even, Ramdevi Women’s (Autonomous) College witnessed a low intensity blast today. However, the polls have not been cancelled yet. Violent incidents were reported from MPC College, Baripada, VD College, Jeypore and many other colleges across Odisha. It is being alleged that ruling BJD, which is on a back foot, thanks to the rise of ABVP, is deliberately triggering panic to cancel the polls in those colleges where it has less chance to win.
