Sunstroke Death Cases Reach 140; Odisha Govt confirms 14 deaths

Sunstroke-OdishaWith heat wave conditions, most areas of Odisha continued to sizzle under highest temperatures. Several parts of Odisha as 17 other places recorded above 40 degrees.

The state government said it had received reports of deaths of 140 people due to sunstroke. Till now 69 cases have been inquired. From all 69 cases, 14 deaths have been confirmed due to sunstroke. Rest 55 death cases occurred due to some other reasons.

Reports said, Talcher recorded highest temperature of 44.6 degrees Celsius. Bhubaneswar recorded 40.1 degree Celsius. Other towns as Titalagarh, Sonepur, Bhawanipatna and Bolangir are recorded over 40 degrees.
