A tripartite meeting between the Centre, Odisha and Chhattisgarh Government will be held in New Delhi on Friday over the construction of barrages and dams and other proposed projects of Chhattisgarh on the Mahanadi river.
Though the Centre had scheduled the meeting on June 27, it was extended to July 29 as Odisha Government sought more time.
Union minister of state for Water Resources and River Development Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan in Parliament said that he presented the facts given by Chhattisgarh on projects on Mahanadi.
In this regard, Odisha Chief Minister said Sanjeev Balyan’s statements before Parliament is more unfortunate. He has misled the House and giving misinformation. Naveen Patnaik urges Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to resolve the issue.
