Worker dies in Ind Energy Barath Plant mishap in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: Mishap occurred at under-construction Ind Energy Barath Plant at Sahajabahal in Jharsuguda district on Friday morning. As per reports, one contractual worker died after falling from plant boiler.

Following the mishap at the plant tension prevailed in the premises. The deceased identified as Jogendra Jadav of Chhattisgarh, who was engaged in the plant work by a contractual agency.

Other workers gather at the accident spot near under-construction boiler  and went berserk following the accident which claimed life of a co-worker. They alleged that due to the negligence of the agency the worker lost his life in the accident.

For the construction of plant, Ind-Barath Energy (Utkal) Ltd had signed a MoU with Odisha government in February 2009 to set up 700 Mw coal-based plant at a cost of Rs 3,150 crore.
