South Africa scored an emphatic victory over Afghanistan in ICC T20 World Cup. They won by 37 runs. The Proteas scored 209/5 in 20 overs. Quinton de Kock (45), Faf du Plessis (41), AB de Villiers (64) and JP Duminy (29) were the top scorers.

In reply, Afghanistan bowled out for 172 in 20 overs and lost the match by 37 runs. Mohammad Shahzad (44), Noor Ali Zadran (25), Gulbadin Naib (26) and Samiullah Shenwari (25) were the top scorers. Chris Morris took 4 wickets, while Rabada and Abbott took two wickets each. Morris was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
