India beat Canada 3-1 in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey

After scoring a tough victory over young Japanese team and getting a 1-5 thrashing from Australia in the second game, India overcame the challenge from Canada to win their third game 3-1.

Chandana Thimmaiah scored the first goal for India, but Keegan Pereira equalised for Canada. Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty corner in the 41st minute and Talwinder Singh scored another in the 67th minute to seal India’s victory.

With six points from three games, India are now placed third in the round-robin standings. Australia top the table with 9 points.
