India win cliffhanger vs Kiwis; clinch ODI Series 2-1

Insight News Desk: New Zealand failed to put a brake on India’s ODI series wins, as the latter won the third ODI by 6 runs and clinched the series 2-1.

Earlier, NZ won the toss and put India into bat. Rohit Sharma’s 147 and Virat Kohli’s 113 help India post 337/6 in 50 overs. For New Zealand, Southee, Milne and Santner took two wickets each.

Chasing a victory target of 338, New Zealand lost Guptill early, but Munro 75, Williamson 64, Taylor 39, Nicholls 37 and Latham 65 led the fightback. But, Latham’s dismissal changed the course of the game.

New Zealand reached 331/7 in 50 overs and lost the match by 6 runs. Bumrah took 3 wickets, while Chahal took 2 wickets.

Rohit Sharma was declared ‘Man of the Match’, while Virat Kohli was adjudged ‘Man of the Series’. It was India’s 7th consecutive ODI series win.
